These four Ukrainian artists have chosen the ancient art and craft of mime. Using only fascinating body movements, the artists Mykyta Cherepakhin, Viktor Chuksin, Namalija Neshva and Bohdan Svarnyk, considered the 'spiritual heirs' of the great Marcel Marceau, depict imaginary worlds and mysterious oceans, flouting and subtly mocking the neurotic and repetitive tic-like behaviour of day-to-day life. They have a poetic and somewhat dreamy approach which is essentially ironic and subtle. Under the knowledgeable guidance of Liubov Cherepakhina, an esteemed tutor at the Kiev Academy, for years they have been presenting a show of their own entitled 'Light Souls' at theatres across the world. The growing success of their act is noteworthy. The two 'poetical' performances to be presented at the Salieri Circus Award event are in fact excerpts taken from this event.
